Thank you, Merci bien. We were rather estranged, but all good now. He said the sea is in our blood, so right (even if growing up in Southport, it was more beach) In creating this I didn’t like using a pallet knife, old credit card worked well for texture...

This was painted after we returned to Brittany after Christmas visiting family in the UK. It’s for my father, 93. He was a merchant marine, sailing out of Liverpool. He’s old, lives in a home and can no longer see the sea.
