September Morning Brancaster Staithe
Had a spare hour this morning and a piece of Bockingford that I hadn't used with my little teaching group at Art club yesterday and so I tackled this from a photo. I took the photo last year whilst in Norfolk and have been meaning to try to paint ever since. It is one of those that is very appealing as a photo but has you thinking that it might not work as a painting. There was a lot of clutter and the buildings are all at different angles and so I attempted to simplify as best I could. I feel I have over painted and lost some of the light but it has been a good learning process. Will decide later if I revisit the scene with another painting.
