What did you use to get this result? It works very well - hands are difficult! I should guess you've used charcoal or conté crayon here? Try the same study in carbon pencil - one of my favourite media.... You made yourself do it, you say ... well, it's worked out well, so make yourself do other things, legs, feet, arms - you certainly have the ability; get hold of a Mars Lumograph 8B pencil - that'll liberate your technique. With the right media - ie, those you find comfortable to use - I'm quite sure you could draw anything you choose to draw.
