The Busker

Great painting Andrea

This is so captivating Andrea, because there is a string narrative and you have painted the figure, violin and case so well. I particularly like how you have subdued the background, emphasising on the main focus of the painting. Love it.

Thank you so much Heather, very kind of you :- )

Thank you Carole. The reference was one of my holiday snaps but I remember it was market day in Florence and he was playing on the pavement hidden by the traders’ stalls. The contrast between the colourful, busy market and the busker’s quiet spot was quite striking. He was so refined in his shiny shoes and sharp creased trousers. I couldn’t resist painting him. It’s the third painting I’ve done from those collected ‘photos to paint from one day’. So it seems it was finally his turn this week! Happy painting to you too. Thanks for commenting :- )

Fabulous painting

Thank you so much Romila :- )

Spending a few minutes looking at all the objects and textures here. I could hear the violin

Thank you so much Diana, I wish I could remember what he was playing myself! I know it sounded beautiful enough to leave the market side and investigate :-) Thank you commenting
