Wow, Alice, what meticulous work. The sense of depth and place is astonishing. How long did this take you to do?

Thank you Heather :) It took about 5 weeks in total. The pebbles in the foreground and the tangled ropes were the slowest bits!

This is superb and beautifully painted Alice.

Well done, can feel the salt in the air!

I agree agree with Heather and so much of interest to peruse. Great painting.

Amazing artwork.

Detail and atmospheric light are superb Alice.

Such fantastic detail and I love the close up on the buoys. Wonderful detail on the rock strata and pebbles.

You have captured beautifully the light coming in from the right. I can't remember seeing an acrylic painting where the colours and values are so subtle. How did you manage your paints over such a long period? Acrylics dry so quickly yet everything here is so well harmonised.

Superb work. Well composed and executed. The light and colours delightful.

Great eye for detail Alice. Very well painted.

Hi Owen, I used a stay wet palette for my acrylics and I built them up in thin glazes using a glazing medium

Super composition and amazing painting

Absolutely stunning work, Alice. The scale of the detail and atmosphere is amazing.

This is stunning. The time and effort was well worth it.

The boats in Cadgwith are mostly working fishing vessels that have practical equipment aboard that is used in all sorts of weather. However, the morning light that bathed this view turned the battered, dew-covered fenders into glistening jewels and the ropes into intricate, shimmering ornamentation. Beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder…
