Like that a lot, Alan. Interested to see your use of oil bars.

I bet you enjoyed the working of the oil at this size. That red apple and its texture is super - I can see the thickness. And I expect you ate and enjoyed the pear afterwards - win win!

Good solid fruit Alan, very appealing.

Nice Alan. That red really sings.

Vibrant Alan, lovely texture.

Great textures and colours Alan

Good composition and color

A lovely still life - shall have to investigate oil bars.

Marvellous range of tones & colour.

Unusual for you Alan, but great work.

This is really beautiful Alan. I’ve never used oil bars but that texture looks yummy!

Excellent.

Love the strong textures and how they are painted so largely Alan.

Beautiful 😍 love the red on the apple 🍎 pops 🎉

You've still managed to get some nice details nevertheless Alan, it's lovely.

Beautiful piece - and an interesting medium Alan

Lovely textures Alan!

Really nice Alan - great colours and I love the textures you get with the oil bars.

Thanks guys always appreciate your feedback!

I know you don’t often do still life paintings Alan but you should. They are such a treat and excellently executed, the oil bars have given the fruit solidity…..with a little help from your talent, of course.

Beautiful still life Alan.

Lovely still life

Oil bars, wow very interesting effects.

Good enough to eat Alan..

The colours are amazing I love it 🤗

The two things I like least! Still life, and chunky oil-bars..... you've done as good a job with the latter as I suspect anyone could have done, and while I'd hate to use them, you've got superb depth of colour; and on quite a large scale. I imagine "not the stuff of detail" is something of a master-example of understatement. I know, because I've used oil pastels (not the same thing at all, I realize) that I would NOT enjoy working with these bars: but I wonder if you did?

Thanks Robert, no I didn’t enjoy the experience, dreadful things in anyone’s hands!

Superb still-life Alan, the pear core looks so realistic and the colours are striking, those oil bars certainly worked well!

R&F oil bars on toned grey paper. I’ve drawn it sight size on an A3 sheet. These oil bars aren’t the stuff of detail, but you can lay down some texture with them.
