Has such atmosphere for such a “ simple” sketch.

Thanks Paul and Marjorie! My feature looks at the watercolour sketch books of Turner, (almost 300 bequeathed to the Tate), more particularly his style and colours. I’ll look at his oils another day…

Impressively understated yet bold

Yes after turner indeed Nice

It's lovely, simple and very beautiful

Such beautiful simplicity in its glory Alan.

So very atmospheric, Alan.

Less is certainly more, Alan. Gorgeous.

Excellent Alan 👌

Beautifully done Alan.

Lovely little sketch here Alan ☺️

Nice work, love sketch.

A beauty Alan-

Beautifully understated Al, so much said in a few strokes.

Looks like the view from Murano - happy holidays!

I like the subtle tones and colours in this Alan - great watercolour, very Turner.

Super Alan; the magazine dropped through my letterbox today so am looking forward to reading your article.

Stunning work Alan.

Thanks for posting this, Alan, nice to see the 'simple' power of a watercolour sketch. Classic case of less is more, I think!

Thanks guys… hope you enjoy my article in TA, my copy arrived today!

I am dreaming of doing those copies...You were brave enough and the result is beautiful

Has a certain feeling

Beautiful clean washes. I’ve enjoyed your articles👍

Very much so, Alan.

This is a small and rapid watercolour sketch based on one of Turner’s sketches, this particular Venice scene doesn’t feature in my article, so I thought I’d post it on the gallery.
