Beautiful painting Anthony

Got to to be honest: when I saw the thumbnail, I thought this just wasn't very good. Then I actually clicked on it, and it's superb - there are so many subtle details that get lost in the thumbnail, because you've used (however accurately the scan shows them) such suggestive and delicate colours. The brush drawing is expressive and very well done, too. So the message to me, at least, is: don't judge by the thumbnails! I should like to see a lot more of your work: do you have a website? If not - get one.

Very nice painting Anthony, i also like the colours, has a 'mellow' feeling to it.

I agree with all the above, the mellow colours and patterns of the branches and their reflections give the painting a tranquil, soothing atmosphere.

Wow, this is so lovely , soft and relaxing

Winter Willows. The Leet at Coldstream has a number of willows growing along it which I have been studying over the past year through all the seasons. This is the winter one, when their stark, brown, leafless shapes are reflected in the water's moving surface. Since I completed this series of paintings some have been cut down. (The colours as printed are not particularly accurate.)
