Thankyou, Syd Craftyme, Tao and Adele for your lovely comments. I do like painting flowers and other things in nature. I read that some professional botanical artists measure
their subject to get accuracy, I did this with the photo, I know it's a fiddle but the end result is worth it. Sometimes I just 'go for it' no drawing...and hope for the best :)

Syd, the picture of your bloom has wonderful light and shade, perfect, and very enticing for the flower painter.
