Thankyou, Syd Craftyme, Tao and Adele for your lovely comments. I do like painting flowers and other things in nature. I read that some professional botanical artists measure their subject to get accuracy, I did this with the photo, I know it's a fiddle but the end result is worth it. Sometimes I just 'go for it' no drawing...and hope for the best :) Thanks again, all. Just to add. Syd, the picture of your bloom has wonderful light and shade, perfect, and very enticing for the flower painter. Look forward to the next challenge.

So come on Syd, how about putting on another challenge for your enthusiastic followers!
There was such a wonderful assortment of styles, it would be nice to see more. Maybe a bridge or a seat in a garden or park? Keep at him, Adele :)
I will Carol - you know me and Syd tend to have little squabbles, just like an old married couple! New tactics are called for - COME ON SYD, BET YOU CAN'T THINK OF A SUITABLE SUBJECT FOR A CHALLENGE! 😉
Crikey, Adele, big letters...now we can look out. Go gentle on us, Syd 😁
I'm sure all you "Syd-followers" can rise to the occasion!
Good boy Syd - how we adore you!!
Not too difficult a subject now Syd!!
I like that subject, Syd. I'll be going straight in with the Chinese brush with this one. A nice touch presenting a subject for your students before we get started. Looking forward to seeing everyone's paintings.
