Demonstration: Snowy owl

Step 1

Draw the basic shapes in pencil.

Step 2

Add facial features, join the body and head with a coloured pencil (ensuring it can be easily erased at the end of the drawing stages before starting the shading or colouring in).

Step 3

Add feathering around the face and beak.

Step 4

Add feathering to the body and top of head.

Step 5

The black and white drawing shows the form and texture, which is not easily seen when in colour.

Step 6

The finished drawing using coloured pencils.
