Sugar beet factory at night

I think you should get a bravery award😊I think what you have managed to capture is superb. A lot of activity on the night shift factory floor no doubt.

Wow. Very good! You captured it Rachel

It's just great Rachel. I think you have captured it really well. I think you can trust your eye because it looks spot on to me!

Thank you for such lovely comments- Chris, Regloh and Sarah - didn’t expect that!

Smashing! Well done for nightime painting!

This painting has a great atmosphere Rachel and captures the power of industrial scenes.

Impressive. The darks allow the lights to shine and it’s always a matter of judgement how dark you go. I think this works but would also work with a slightly lighter sky as the lamp lights are against the dark ground

A beautiful rendition of an industrial scene, pulsing with life Rachel.

Well- Thank you all so much again for such super comments! I do agree Martin- I think a lighter sky would have benefitted this- but I’ve learnt a lot from it- also as I’m painting with a head torch, I feel the tonal range needs to be exaggerated a bit- But thank you all for great feedback really appreciated- 🧚‍♀️

Night time, in winter, with a head torch??? You are definitely committed…and barmy! But what a wonderful result for your sacrifices.

😂😂😂 yes Fiona- I think I must be!! But Thank you for the lovely compliment- 🤪

Exciting work Rachel and I admire you for getting out there. I was actually thinking of you this morning when I was looking at the sunrise and taking in the range of colours.

Thankyou Diane- that’s a lovely message! It was a beautiful morning - yes!

Superb, Rachel, fabulous colour and a really brave bold strong image.

Thankyou Thalia and Pastor- much appreciated

Have always fancied having a go painting a night scene so - went off to Bury St Edmunds last night and had a go at the above across a field- I was amazed at the amount of warm darks and colour in the sky. Looking at it now I think the sky could be a touch lighter in places- but it was a great experience- Any feedback good or otherwise very welcome - this is how I learn -

I paint Plein Air, and landscapes are my passion. The changing light, never knowing quite what may happen, searching for a subject, meeting passers by, all add to the excitement and richness of landscape painting. My other passion is playing the violin, occasionally in and around the streets and…
