Christine - this has worked so well, I am glad you have done it. It is a lovely composition, the birds are super and I really like the iridescence on the nearest bird.

Thank you Julie, well Mark's book certainly inspired me to get my paints out again and I enjoyed cutting and sticking but found it very difficult to create the lovely folk style that he achieves. I think I'll just enjoy the book!

Inspired by the artist Mark Hearld and by the starlings gathering each day to join the murmuration over the ruins of the west pier in Brighton. I painted the background on Khadi paper and collaged handpainted cut Khadi papers for the large starling and middle ground starlings. The roof tops are handpainted and cut khadi paper and magazine cut outs.
