What a great result. Love the eggs. I still haven't taken up the splatter challenge.

Fantastic result Christine! I knew that you'll come up with something special!

What a fabulous piece of splattering Christine. Super texture and the eggs add a seasonal touch.

I HAVE TO SAY THIS IS SO LOVELY ITS MY FAVOURTE SPLATTER OF ALL . I REALLY LOVE THE LINES IN THE NEST YOU HAVE KEPT IT SIMPLE AND ITS WORKED SUPER DUPER LOL .

The nest is very effective Christine! Lovely!

Thank you very much Gudrun, Satu, Fiona, Dennis, Louise, Debs and Sarah. This was such fun to do and it almost felt like building a nest as I had to add layer after layer of straw blown twigs. I was pleased with how it turned out though.

Brilliant what a great subject for this challenge Christine.

Ps. I know what you mean about feeling dizzy blowing hard down the straw!!

Fantastic - what a great subject for the blowing and spattering. How clever of you to think of it. Love the pretty speckled blue eggs as well.

It's really lovely Christine.

Thank you Glennis, Carole, Thea and Kal. Probably the last splatter for me, I've run out of puff!

I am intrigued by this splatter technique - haven't really grasped what you do. Do you just throw paint at the surface and see what results from it? And then perhaps work into it? However it is done, it is very effective - I love these eggs Christine.

Hi Julie, in this painting I masked out the egg shapes using masking fluid and then painted, in watercolour, the blue background using wet in wet. After it had dried I started on the nest dropping in colour around the egg shapes and letting that dry. Then I added smaller drops of paint all around the outsides and blew through a straw to disperse the paint. It took quite a while to build the effect. Some of the splatters I left as they were. Lastly I rubbed off the masking fluid and painted the eggs using wet in wet.

I really like this one very much, Christine! Lots of variety in the spatters and marks, with a slightly abstract feel. It's lovely!
