Lovely loose still life with your vibrant goldens Christine.

Lovely work. Impressive colour mixing; I think the choice of yellow and of black might be important! It certainly makes a statement, does the lack of blue.

You've managed quite a few shades of colours here Christine from just using the three impossible sounding ones! When I read about them, I couldn't wait to try them out which is what painting is all about for me. I'm pleased to see this one and just realised that it's acrylic paint that you've used. Possibly the person who suggested the combination meant acrylic or even oils which might give a different effect all together from watercolour. I shall have to have another read later! Well done, good still life here.

Makes a lovely statement as a still life - loosely interpreted and nicely expressive.

Yes works well Christine

Thank you Carole, Amanda, Louise, Thea and Michael for your comments and special thanks Louise for inspiring me to try something new, I had some spare time to paint yesterday and couldn't think what to do, your posting was what I needed to get me going!

Well done, Christine.

Love the combination of hues and shapes, Christine! Striking in its simplicity, and full of joie de vivre.

Excellent use of the three colours Christine, well done.

Thank you Mia, Seok, and Fiona, it was an interesting challenge!

I had to have a go at using these three colours after seeing Louise's painting. I was surprised to be able to mix a red and a 'sort of' green too. Golden Fluid Acrylics: Quinacridone Magenta, Hansa Yellow and Carbon Black used watercolour style.
