Pleasing on the eye Willie, I particularly like how you've painted that bank underneath the big structure

Fabulous drawing of the old mine shaft and hill-side embankment. What do they mine? It looks amazing with the cottage beneath and in comparison must be quite a big complex and never knew there are mines in the lake district ...the lush green slope and blue sky with clouds appearing gives the premise a highlight effect the colours resonate well!

Good one Willie ☺️

A lovely painting Willie. I like how the green sweeps down from the blue sky and envelopes the painting around the buildings.

Excellent Willie, the subject is so interesting and your colours are super.

Love the landscape, the old buildings and the palette, they all fit together so well Willie. I particularly like the sweep of the road!

Very nice indeed Willie. Just love the colours on the hillside and on the escarpment leading the eye to that house on the right.

Thanks everyone for the comments, appreciated lots -I believe they mined barytes and lead in the area Angela, the 'cottage' was the mineshop.

Walkers will be familiar with these abandoned structures at the top of Coaldale in the Lakes. This oil is based on a combination of sketches completed there in the Summer.
