I always like your paintings Willie and this is no exception

Willie, is that a place or an adjective? I know there's a " Brownieside" quite near. Nice lead in with the path and you've got the feel of the season perfectly.

Love the depth and space you’ve got in your painting Willie, something I always struggle with. Lovely interwoven lines and marks throughout the landscape too.

Thanks Heather Fiona and Romila. Marjorie the valley is called The Browney Valley (sometimes Lanchester Valley) after the small River Browney and is about 4 miles west of Durham. And yes, it looked a bit browny-green on the day I did my pencil sketch. Thanks for all your comments, appreciated as always.

Oil on 12"x10 board. The view east from near Biggin Farm on a cold and dull day.
