Great Cumbrae by Peter Richards

Comments

Well done Peter, excellent colours.

Has a lovely quality to it

Lovely sepia monochrome and looks superb...these kind of seascapes always bring a sense of wonder and the golden sea illuminates the sky too,, nice jagged rock formations too, is it near Cumbria? That Cumbria coastline does kind of evoke mystery and awe... Where our ancestors originated and when we visited it did resonate a kind of belonging... Nicely painted Peter!

Many thanks for your kind comments. Great Cumbrae is a small island just off the Ayrshire coast, in the background is Arran. Angela, you are of course right in what you say of the Cumbrian coast, just the other side of the border. Both worth a visit!.

A very subtle watercolour which evokes a great sense of place and your handling of the light is very impressive Perter.

Discovered this island earlier this year and I keep trying to capture it's serene beauty. A3 watercolour on 350gsm not paper.
