It is a stunning acrylic dog painting Wenda, and you have caught it in a great pose as well close up like that, super work

As soon as my neighbour asked me I knew exactly which picture of him to use! His comical face matches his personality exactly!

Great portrait and love Ralph (what a super name). I do like the composition as it has great impact.

How could you not love that face.......great portrait Wenda.

Hi Wanda, I was trying to find your gallery after your comment in your introduction to this dog portrait, I was assuming it is on Facebook, but you are obviously using a particular name for that gallery, can you tell me how to get to see your gallery, I would be really interested to see it, have you noticed my pastel portrait gallery on this site? I have dog portraits in that, would love to get your opinion on some of those, thanks Wenda, I have posted this comment after typing your name in Facebook and google to try to get to see your gallery but didn't find anything, bye or now

Hi Ros My Facebook gallery is called 'my gallery by Wenda' I will check out your gallery soon! Am away today so time limited x

How, I wonder, do you start your paintings? Anyway - I could reach out and stroke this wonderful dog: I'm notorious locally for stopping dog owners and insisting on stroking their dogs, given I don't now have one of my own: and dogs on the whole like me, so we're usually half way there before their owners are involved at all! I'm sure people say that funny old man doesn't talk to people at all, but he does talk to your dog..... and yep: it's probably entirely true. Show me your dog and let me stroke it and given a few minutes I might even speak to you too............

As I've said before, painting animals is not a keen subject of mine. So when a neighbour asked me to paint the family dog for his wife's birthday it was quite a challenge! Not only the subject matter, but the fact it was the summer holidays and free time with the children and work is limited! Setting aside a couple hours in the evenings I eventually got there with only days to spare! I must admit I'm really pleased with it. Was one of the toughest paintings I've completed. And from my FB gallery I've had interest from 6 others for pet portraits. Guess I'd better start liking painting animals ........... :-)
