Man at the Gallery

Hi, Really like this one - think it's the best so far. You seem to have really captured his character. Can I ask - do you work from photos, or sketches, or a mixture?

Thank you for your comments. I tend to work from a photo as it's not easy to get anyone willing to sit. I take my camera with me and if I see an interesting person I ask if I can take their photo with a view to painting a portrait. Most people are quite flattered....at least until they see the painting! I sent a photo of this painting to a gallery and they asked if I'd like to have an exhibition, very scary but exciting. I agree this definatly gives the impression it is of a real person, with as has already been said, a real character
