Causeway

The colours you have used work really well - it's an unusual but effective composition. This painting and a couple of the others you have posted remind me of views from an aeroplane. Is this where you got your inspiration from?

Thanks Penni for your comments. I am interested in developing ideas from aerial views: the compositions of Causeway and Strait were actually based on floor tiles of Chinese slate, but influenced by an aerial viewpoint.

Fascinating... I too enjoy looking at the patterns and textures in slate and natural materials. The other paintings in your portfolio are great too.
