Thank you for your comments. Jo Morton, I'm not sure I'll be tackling gouache again anytime soon - at least not until I've purchased a stay-wet palette. I work quite slowly and the paint kept drying on the palette.

14" x 11" Gouache on canvas panel and varnished. I usually use my own photographic reference but i just had to paint this pelican captured by my nephew, Nick Scott. To challenge myself, I decided to use gouache for the first time. I found it quite tricky to use because it remains water-soluble and I couldn't keep layering like I do when using acrylics. However, I was quite pleased with the result.
