A beautiful painting - the fur is superbly done. It looks so realistic. Your portfolio is really impressive - I don't know how I have managed to miss your postings but have had a look and I think your work is wonderful.

A wonderful portrait..... so real. I'm afraid the mouse is rather a sore point for me at the moment as my female cat catches Wood mice in the garden and then brings them into the house to show us and play with... horrible! When they escape they take up residence under the kitchen sink.... Your gallery is brilliant.

Many thanks for all your wonderful comments - I was particularly pleased with this portrait. I submitted it today for possble inclusion in the Society of Feline Artists Annual Exhibition, held in August/September each year, and I am happy to say that it was accepted along with my portait of Nias the Sumatran Tiger. Fingers crossed that it gets an equally good response later this year.

10" x 8" Pastel on "suede effect" paper. I spotted this beautiful cat shading itself under the bumper of my car a few years ago. I keep my camera in my bag ready for any "reference gathering" and took several snaps. I decided to crop the image to a portrait and added the toy mouse for a little extra interest.
