I like the softness behind the butterfly, it doesn't seem surreal to me however, but it does show your "eye" for the composition.

I like the way you faded the thistle as well as the butterfly and the background shows him off beautifully Kay.

Painted in watercolour on 300 g SW cold press, quarter sheet. Based on a photograph of an old a tattered-winged butterfly. I altered the reference to give the appearance that the butterfly was fading into the background and to give it a slightly surreal feel. C&C welcome.
