I think this is my favourite Trevor, it's brilliant especially the rust!

I just love this one, my husband is a big boat painting fan and he thinks this is brilliant.

A wonderful gallery of which this is my favourite, marvellous colour ,good drawing and what an impact, we don't seem to see to many oils that are as sharp as yours I don't know if its a particular style but they seem to be out of focus to me, the impressionists painted loosely but still had defined outlines, anyway I really look forward to seeing more of your work.

Superb colours and composition. I agree totally about the colour of rust....... a super painting.

Super painting, like your lighting, palette and wonderful subject.

super, very strong image and composition, kinda knocks your socks off

I agree with all the above comments. beautiful oil

this has impact! love the strong colour & the design

The sheer depth of colour is utterly amazing. When you study the painting you have used a very limited palette but the painting appears to be bursting with colour - wonderful.

Great painting, and wonderful gallery... more please..

Just discovered your gsllery \trevor. Excellent paintings. This is my favourite. Love the rust and the cobalt blue together. Jx

Well - the drawing is excellent, the colour deeply saturated, the composition just about spot-on - i am in no position to criticize, and actually I'm not criticizing at all, it's all a matter of vision ... but I just observe that the strength of colour in this is more typical of American than of English scenes and, just as a matter of preference, I prefer less intense colour: I'm not sure where portavogie is, however, so it may be that the different light there is so unfamiliar to my eyes that I don't quite read it. Leaving all that aside, and anyway colour is subjective, there are some fabulous touches in this which just lift it - the rope in the foreground, the detail on the dock (struggling for the right words here), the shape and scale of the boats, all obviate any criticism and make a fabulous oil painting.

Robert Jones. Thank you for your comments on Autumn Boats. By my own admission my work is very bright and bold,i am very influenced by american painting e.g. Maynard Dixon,Edward Hopper, also british artists like Terence Cuneo,Frank Wootton, Gordon Hales,Dexter Brown.Portavogie is on the Newtonards peninsula Co.down and the light does give fantastic lights and darks at certain times of day.Kind regards, trevor.

I disagree Robert. I love bold colours and this is fantastic in its boldness. The colours are bright and confident. As you say, colour is subjective and that's what makes art so fascinating. Each person sees something different. Jx

I really like your gallery, particularly this painting.

66 by66cm.portavogie co.down.a wealth of subjects for the artist in this fishing port.the colour of rust intrigues me as do the reflections in oily water, you could almost make an abstract painting out of that alone.
