My art teacher, the monosylabic Frenchman.
oil on canvas. Life painting over two days of my art teacher in October 1979. After months of drawing he let me paint him in his studio. He didn't comment about it but asked for it as a memento of months of toil sweat and tears. He went back to France a few weeks later. At Christmas we received a card and a photo of the painting framed and on his wall. No comment was written.
