Great portrait. Although we are both called Thea - we are totally opposites in the looks department. I am very fair and you are dark haired. Also, sadly, I am a lot older than you! I do like the expression and the glasses perched on your nose. Very hard to do a characterful self-portrait, but you have achieved this extremely well.

That is stunning. Do you mind my asking if it was direct from life? I personally find it remarkably difficult to maintain a suitably "interesting" expression (well, any expression at all). You do look like you are just glancing up from a sketchbook... I may have just answered my own question.

Thank you so much Amanda, I do work from a variety of photographs, and from life, I combine it all together. It's easier for me painting myself as I can have a mirror right in front of me. It is hard to maintain a certain expression, especially when my paintings take a while to do. Thanks Thea :-)
