I did Chinese brush painting many years ago in Hong Kong Tao. What it did teach me was brush control and mark making. I do hope your tutor taught you how to hold your brush correctly ? . Then my tutor was Chinese and I never got as far as lovely poppies and colour...well done ,

Wow! They're great. Wonderful colour and I like the large size that shows them off. Like Carole I hope that the next day is better for you. Will be very interested to see the results.

Thank you so much Sylvia for your lovely feedback, I have been doing Chinese brush painting for quite a while but I usually do the Chinese GongBi style on silk which is using very fine brushes,

CHINESE BRUSH PAINTING COURSE this is the first days effort that I am willing to post. the day was very long…the paper was just like blotting paper, the large brush decided that what I wanted to paint was not what it had in mind..it was totally out of control.. the flowers had to be very large . so all in all I was way out of my own comfort zone. I just hoped that the next day would be better, it could not be any worse. I have done a lot of Chinese brush paining. but I have never done very large anything……
