thank you so much Linda for your lovely comments. I have looked into this but I am pretty sure they are poppies I looked carefully at the photograph I took and studied the buds and the stems and I am still convinced they are poppies. but thanks for making me take a second look.

a while ago I sketched these poppies individually , but I now decided they would look better as a group and am quite happy with the result.... the poppies are true to colours I was in a N/Trust property in a small area in the garden they had planted wild flowers, poppies in several colours I had needed seen before that is where I took the photos
