Beach huts

Sylvia this is not a patch on your umrella piece, but you can add and improve it with your current choice of media. Strong colours (beach huts do have them) get some good darks here and there shadows etc ( establish a strong source of where the sun is coming from) maybe add some chairs and umbrella to the foreground or crop a lot of it off. Hope this helps, you're doing OK.

Hi Sylvia. I generally agree with Derek. First establish where the light source is and then introduce the darks as appropriate. I wouldn't crop it just yet - get the darks in first and then reappraise it. As Derek has said, some various colours on the huts would help to relieve the monotone. Looking forward to seeing the re-work!

Thank you guys ...good to have guidance. I always struggle with getting darker colours so will have another go... Think I need instruction in photography too!
