Colourful Old Lady

Saw this wonderful portrait of the Old Lady and just had to browse your other pics as well. You certainly have a way with line and detail. I'm constantly being told that the basis of a good picture is being able to draw properly (which I struggle with, I have to say). You've got it licked, Sue. P.S.: I also love the child portrait. Oh, yes: and the rescue cat. Well, all of them, really, but these are my favourites.

Wow ... that was quick! Many thanks for commenting Janet. I haven't really had a good luck round the galleries yet as there is so much to read on this site ...... and I really should be working on a chocolate lab portrait which is close to finished .... but I keep prevaricating. Will have a look at your gallery this evening I hope. I realy appreciate your kind words ..

Fabulous portrait, such detail. Very well done.

Thanks Stephen I do enjoy drawing 'wrinklies' - so much character

I think you have real talent! Even the knitted part of the lady's hat is amazingly well done. The eyes are magic - really well done.

What a beautifully executed portrait. Done in pencils... it must have taken such a long long time. So very well done.

Thanks ladies I think this was the first 'human' I drew in coloured pencil - I'd always drawn them in graphite before to avoid all the skintone colour complications. She was great fun to draw

Thank you Lorraine :o)

This beautiful old lady was drawn in Prismacolor pencils on Fabriano Artistico paper. I just loved the twinkle in her bright blue eyes - and the character shining out of her wise old face.
