The luminous quality of the skin is beautiful - I bet Mum was thrilled with this lovely portrait.

Thanks Thea I'm always nervous about backgrounds - especially in coloured pencil - but this boy's hair colouring is so light I didn't think it would stand out well from the white background so it was really a case of 'in at the deep end' with this one :o)

Beautiful portrait - the skin tone is excellent, and the background is perfect, brings out the blue in his eyes

Thank you Wendy The skintones took forever - lots of layering with VERY sharp pencils, blotting with tissue and lifting with blutack .... I much prefer drawing fur I think :o)
