Wow, this is gorgeous.

Such a lovely painting Sue. But I’m sad to say that a Robins eye isn’t like this, it isn’t circled in bright yellow, there is a touch of light feathers but this is the eye of a hen or a seagull. Sorry to be negative but if you are painting a portrait such as this it should be anatomically correct. Well I in my opinion . It’s such a nice pic otherwise

I like how you have done the feathers with your brush strokes, it's very effective. I have never tried oils, I haven't ever been brave enough, was it enjoyable?

I found an 40 year set of oils in the loft so I had a go, reasonably successfully. But I felt I needed tuition, so I went for my first lesson this week, hence the robin. Do try it, it has a quality that acrylic doesn’t seem to achieve, I can’t wait to have another go.
