14"x10" oil on board. I thought this image of a family in shadow reflects the effect of much social isolation. Familiar figures become less detailed and shadowy even though they may be close in other circumstances. Distance and lack of contact reduces familiarity. The colours are brighter than in the painting but that is the vagaries of photography.
