Studt After Carel Fabritius : The Goldfinch by Steve Strode

I went to see this painting some years ago, it is remarkable. But I couldn’t help feeling sad about the little chain around its leg. A lovely study Steve.

Re the chain, it was a different time and customs were certainly different.When I was little we had a budgie in a small cage…..

You have painted a lovely copy here Steve. Looked the artist up and was amazed at how old the original painting is and yet it is still so magnetic.
