Well, some people actually buy their sand to incorporate in their acrylics - you've had the stuff delivered there for you for free. Like it - you can tell it was painted out in the open - the sea is unfussy; those of us who paint in the studio all the time are inclined to worry it to death and put too many lines in it...

Lovely summery beach scene Steve, lovely colours

Cheers Robert and Ros, I wish I was still there sand or no sand :-) All the best, Steve.

I don't blame you Steve. It looks absolutely idyllic. Good tip about the beach tent. I'll get to your blog in a minute.

Cheers Gudrun, All the best, Steve.

Lovely blustery feel to this painting - great strong colours and lovely light.

Cheers Thea, All the best Steve.

24 cm x 17 cm acrylic on paper Another study from Cornwall, this time painted from a beach tent ( a great outdoor studio) on Sennen Beach. A steady wind towards the end of the painting forced me to stop as it was like painting on sandpaper and in the paint on the palette. I managed to scrape most of it off but some is there for good on the picture...lets call it texture. I painted the girl in back home from photos and drawings.
