Standing Stones - Soft Pastel on Ingres 12" x 9"

I've used Daler Rowney Ingres paper for some years and found it OK with my soft pastels which are a mixture of Rowney (some dating fromthe seventies), Schminke (my favourites), Unison and Sennelier. I'm greatly taken with Hermes 500 grit wet and dry since using it at a workshop by Robert Dutton. Keep trying, it's a very satisfying, if messy, medium. I think you have done well for a first outing - remember my teacher's mantra - you have never got the right colour in pastels!

like this one steve..........have taken you up on your challenge of painting fitz and nighteyes..where is yours?

First proper attempt with pastels.... not happy with the ingres paper as a support as the pastel doesn't adhere very well..... before i give up i've purchased some velour sheets and colourfix paper to see if they work any better for me. Advice from any of you folks with pastel experience very much welcome....thanks Steve
