Well Stephen, this is so different that I don't really know what to say. It's very peaceful and beautiful and it looks like taken out of an old book of paradise. Everything works together, the composition, figures and colours. Serene is the word I was looking for!!

I agree with Satu. It's rare to have art inspired directly by poetry nowadays (at least from what I have seen so please correct me if I am wrong!) and this really works. Yes, serene is the word.

Agree with Satu and Gudrun - the scene has a very tranquil air about it. The landscape is beautifully done. I haven't been commenting for a while because I was pretty inundated, so apologies if I missed some of your earlier pieces. I'll get round to it eventually.

Thanks for your comments. I don't get on to the site very often these days as I am so busy with my art society. I don't think you have missed any of my postings Seok. Hope you are all well and producing!

Acrylic on canvas 30" x 20". My first painting of the New Year and inspired by a Thomas Hardy poem "In a Wood". The following lines caught my imagination: "Unto this wood I came As to a nest: Dreaming that sylvan peace Offered the harrowed ease - Nature a soft release From men's unrest" (Thomas Hardy 1840 - 1928) www.artyboi.co.uk
