Composition and tones work really well in this pretty scene, Stephen

This is very attractive Stephen, I like the deep contrasts.

I really like this one, Stephen - beautifully bright. - I was getting worried that your watercolours were becoming a bit wishy-washy (maybe the photographs?) but this is is perfect! - and great for yet another dull morning here!

Lovely work Stephen, it was worth it! The foreground shadow just finishes off the scene nicely.

Many thanks everyone for your encouraging comments. It is so easy to blindly copy from a photo isn't it? I knew this was not working but needed others comments to see what needed doing. Thanks to Alan and others for their advice.

A great improvement Stephen, I really like this version. Well done for having another go!

many thanks once again Fiona, I was surprised how easily the hedges washed away, must have been non staining pigments.

Yep, this works. You're right it is such a temptation, or one can forget, not to re-work photos to suit. I've done it!

Good subject and so well treated.

Many thanks once again Michael.

Sponged out the hedged and added the foreground shadow. I think that has improved the composition as suggested.
