Lovely 'relaxed' watercolour - I find working quickly often produces better results and this certainly works well.

I love the palette on this Stephen.

many thanks Michael and Carole for your kind words.

I really like the eye level of this Stephen, in fact there is a lot to like about it; the sky, the tree's and especially the treatment of the foreground. I'm struggling with foreground in one that I'm doing at the moment....I'm on try three!!

Many thanks Fiona, foregrounds are tricky, it's easy to put two much in and block the viewers eye from continuing into the picture. I was getting towards that whenI stopped! Look at James Fletcher Watson and Edward Wesson's foregrounds, not much in them but they work!

A super piece, Stephen, beautiful atmosphere and palette .

Something very peaceful about this scene! Very nice indeed!

Many thanks Seok and Sarah for your kind comments. Actually the scene was anything but peaceful, with a cold drizzle of rain soaking us through. Thank goodness for artistic licence!

Arrived late at the art group tonight so thought I'd better work quickly. This from a photo. I took in Derbyshire over new year.
