I used to have a hake and couldn't get on with it - might try one again - certainly works so well here Stephen

Another lovely woodland scene Stephen, I'm always so envious of your figures!

Many thanks, Michael and Fiona for your kind words once again. I learnt a lot when i first started painting from Ron Ransons bookrs, on figures he said 'paint the heads small and don't put in too much detail', so I don't!

A lovely piece, Stephen - lovely palette, full of depth. Beautifully done.

Thank you Seok for your kind remarks.

From a photo I found in a book about the Cotswolds. Mostly painted wet in wet with a hake and a rigger.

About the Artist
Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
