I like this . Sometimes the less obvious makes a better picture and this is a good composition and you have caught the light perfectly.

Lovely light on the tree trunk on the right, and the top of the greenery, Stephen. Must have needed a bit of careful thought to get the lights in first and keep that nice tonal contrast.

Many thanks Fred and Caroline for your kind comments. I must confess Caroline that I am a bit impulsive with my watercolours, I keep meaning to plan more but forget in the 'heat of battle'. Although it was a bright day, I thought it needed shadows acrossthe foreground, which I put in hurriedly and then had to overpaint, note to self - must plan more!

Thanks once again Glennis, it's difficukt to get the strong tones with watercolour, without losing the transparency.

This was from a photo I took in the car park of a garden centre, nothing to see normally but the autumn colours transformed the scene.
