It's a lovely composition Stephen, especially the light trees on the left and the sky. A little easier when you have a reference but no painting is easy.

Many thanks once again Kal.

Great depth to this Stephen

Many thanks Michael, I think it was the feeling of depth that attracted me to the original.

I like how you have painted the hazy distant hills Stephen, with the sun peeping through. Nice muted greens too. Unlike mine which usually end up too bright and unatural looking.

Many thanks Dennis and Chris for your kind words. Have you tried mixing a little red or brown with your greens Chris to calm them?

You are so good at these gentle countryside scenes. Lovely recession and good play of light on the water.

Many thanks for your kind comments Thea.

Went to the art group and forgot my iPad with a photo I was going to paint from. Searched through some old LP mags and copied this from one of them. Much easier to paint from someone else's painting isn't it?

About the Artist
Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
