Thanks again Fiona, I suppose it's just about getting the perspective approximately right. here I took the far end of the lake as the horizon and made the road converge towards it.

I actually think the quick ones have a certain something that more considered work often lacks. This looks spontaneous and as if you were reacting to what you see about you - which in my book is a good way to paint.
