I agree with Derek. This works rather nicely. I like your choice of colours.

Many thanks for your vencouraging comments Derek and Gudrun. I used to use charcoal and wtaercolour for sketching some time ago, must try a few more.

The watercolour wash has added a nice warmth to the piece - it was a good idea.

Agree with everyone that it works, Stephen. My personal choice is the original black and white piece, which has a very pristine charm to it. However, this piece has its own appeal.

I thought I would try to add some watercolour to the charcoal to see if it would improve things a little. I was surprised the charcoal did not turn to mud when I added the watercolour.
