Eye catching portrait Stan. How is the wax used?

Tessa Gwynne, the max is a medium made of beeswax dissolved in turpentine. A small amount mixed with a transparent colour will render the colour cloudy but not opaque. It can also alter the consistency of the paint rather like using a gel with acrylic paint.
