The River Hull towards Drypool

The River Hull towards Drypool

Smashing oil painting Stan. My only slight gripe is the angle of the boat seems wrong in respect to the quay side?

Thanks Derek. The quayside is sweeping out in a curve towards the viewer. This, I thought, was a major element of this image together with the Orange/blue contrast.

Yes I see that Stan, just thought the bow would be further out into the water. I do like your colour scaheme a lot.

Great painting Stan. As a Hull lad I know the scene well and it brings back may memories of childhood spent in the city. The river is always muddy in my memory though!!!!!

This is a view of the River Hull looking towards Drypool Bridge. The tall white building in the background is the Shotwell factory that makes lead shot by dropping molten lead down the tall tower. A Hull landmark. This is 25cm square oil on gesso primed MDF. Comments both complimentary and critical most welcome.
