Quite exceptional Linda especially for a first.

Thank you Michael for your kind comment.

thank you Gudrun, I will have another go I expect, when there is sufficient time in my class.

Great portrait in watercolour Linda. A good dipping of the toe :)

Wow , that's a great portrait Linda very impressive indeed . Than you for the comment on my latest and the paper I'm using at the moment is called Icon it's not expensive , I used to use it for practice until I saw how wet in wet washes dried and they dry beautifully if left alone , if you go back into work and touch it to much you end up with an unholy mess as the paper is very delicate , but when it works it's great and the whiteness of the paper is amazing .

Thank you Carole and Dermot for your complementary comments. And thank you Dermot for your tips on the paper. This is 300 gsm, which in my view acts like blotting paper.

Not a bad first attempt at a watercolour portrait. This medium I have always found difficult to use well so ell done to you Linda.Try some more.

Thank you Stuart.

I think to work this in watercolour is very difficult, it's years since I used them and never found a portrait easy anyway. This a very good first attempt

Thank you Derek. I can't say it was easy and there were stages when I thought I would just start again. but a couple of blobs of masking fluid and a wash over the whole face seemed to sort it.

Hang on Studio Wall

I don't usually do watercolours and I have never done a watercolour portrait before, but inspired by Cesare I have dipped my toe in the water.
