This watercolour painting marks the event of kings golden state coach travelling along the mall on his way to Westminster abbey for his coronation. Painted in watercolour using Danielle smith paints on frisk 100% cotton paper. Whilst the coronation is a time for the nation to come together and celebration, this event does come at a time of unprecedented uncertainties. I believe this piece gives a sense of the celebration but also a contrasting mood to reflect the current times.
