Spanish Finca and Poppy Field by Jan Hooper

If you are only a beginner, then we are all in trouble! Super painting - foregrounds are usually people's nightmare but you have done just brilliantly with this one. The only thing I might have considered was to make the sky a more sunny blue which would have echoed the blue/lilacs in the foreground - always effective to repeat a colour within a painting. But that is only an opinion and certainly doesn't take anything away from the super quality of the painting.

I like the sky colour. It conveys a feeling of sultry heat. I think a bright blue sky might have looked a little garish and distract us from the gorgeous bright flowers. As you say you're a beginner it's wonderful. You have a natural talent for watercolours which most of us find extremely difficult to master! Well done 1 Louise
