Brilliant, Sophie.

Perfect Sophie! Would you mind telling us how you painted those straight lines/ropes on the boats. My boat knowledge is nil so I'm not sure what they're called. I'm guessing white gouache but how do you get them so perfectly straight? I ask because my lines are always so wobbly :)

Such a skilful watercolour Sophie

Thank you everybody 😊 Louise, the rigging is not painted on, I simply lift the paint off with a clean, wet 1/2 inch flat brush on it's edge and piece of tissue. I guess being flat makes it easier to get the lines straight!

Another brilliantly executed watercolour, Sophie. The boats are so clean and sharp, and the reflections are gorgeous.

Beautiful fresh watercolour, Sophie.

Thanks for that Sophie. I imagine the flat brush would be easier, you have more control. Rigging... that's the word I was looking for. That's two bits of information :)

I've just this minute tried lifting the paint with a 1/2 in flat brush and it worked well. Can't tell you how much I appreciate that tip..thanks :)

Fantastic composition , great reflections Sohie

Yey! Louise, glad I could share the technique.

Fabulous painting...so fresh & clean...

Terrific painting. There's too much to say about it so I'll settle for particularly liking the background trees & fields.

A beautiful, late summers evening really made the light bounce off the boats and made the reflections intense
